1950 ~ 2012
Gary D. Rasmussen, age 62, passed away with his family by his side on Nov. 2, 2012 after a long illness.
Gary was born to Donald and Elda Rasmussen on April 6, 1950 in Salt Lake City and grew up in Sandy. He served in the Auckland New Zealand LDS mission from 1970 to 1972. He married Colleen Nielsen for time and all eternity on June 8, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Gary loved the outdoors, riding his mules, and spending time with his family. He had a love for animals and nature. His family and friends were very important to him. Gary had a great sense of humor and loved life, living each day to the fullest….fighting right to the end. He faithful member of the church and held several callings throughout his life.
He is survived by his children; Justin (Amanda), Hollie Carlton (Mike), Colette Miner (Scott), and Alan (Jessica); 8 grandchildren, his parents, and sisters Ranae Nilsson and Debra Simons.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Utah for their years of dedicated care. We are also grateful for the many friends and family that have visited or shown support to Gary and his family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Lehi Willow Park Stake Center, 1998 West 900 North in Lehi, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, from 6-8:00 pm and Thursday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the services at the Stake Center.
