1950 ~ 2012
Gary Lowell Packer died early Nov. 23, 2012 at the age of 62.
He was born to Lowell W. and Dorothy LaVenna Marble Packer in Brigham City on May 11, 1950. He graduated from Box Elder High School and later Brigham Young University. After serving an LDS mission in the Franco-Belgian mission from 1969-71, Gary married Paula Pearson on Sept. 1, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised five children in Honeyville, Utah during which he owned and worked at the Hillam Agency in Brigham City and served as Bishop of the Honeyville 1st Ward. In 1991, he moved his family to Germany where he worked for the LDS Church as the Real Estate Supervisor over Central and Eastern Europe. He worked for First American Title after returning to Utah. In all, he worked 32 years in the title business. He and Paula served three additional missions, two in South Africa and the third as mission president of the newly opened D.R. Congo, Lubumbashi mission.
He is survived by his wife: Paula; children: Thomas (Megan), Kathryn (Bryan) Roberts, Laura (John) Bromberger, Mark; 10 grandchildren; Siblings: Lynn, Lynda, Richard, and Debra.
Preceded in death by parents, sister Marilee, son Christian, and granddaughter Amelia.
Funeral services Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Compton Bench LDS Ward, 850 N. Compton Rd., Farmington, UT. Viewing Tuesday, November 27 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 N. Fairfield, Layton, UT, and Wednesday, 9:30 to 10:35 a.m. at the Church in Farmington. Interment in Brigham City Cemetery.
