1945 ~ 2013
Gary Ray Hill passed away from cancer on March 9, 2013. He was born March 25, 1945 to Wendell and Lola Olsen Hill in Salina, Utah.
He attended and graduated from Gunnison High School in 1963. While at Gunnison High School, Gary was on the State Championship Basketball Team. He still holds the state record for the most career points scored for the State of Utah. Gary attended and graduated from BYU. He played on the Varsity Basketball Team and was a member of the 1966 N. I. T. Championship team. He was inducted into the State of Utah Hall of Fame in 2000.
Gary had worked as a Sales Representative for various companies for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife, Cinda Kavachevich Hill; daughter, Sarah (Desmond) Prentice of Pleasant Grove, UT; and grandchildren, Savanah and Gracen. He is also survived by three other children from a previous marriage, Christopher, Kimberli and Marti, three grandchildren, Dominique, Alexis and Morgan, and brothers, Robert Hill of Pleasant View, UT and Bruce Hill of St. George, UT.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Duros for his care and concern for Gary over the years and also to Dr. Rich and Staff at First Choice Hospice.
A memorial service will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Edgemont 12th Ward Chapel, 350 East 2950 North, Provo, Utah. He will be interred in the Fayette City Cemetery in Fayette, UT at a later date. Condolences may be emailed to
