Geraldine Shelton Cutler died on January 31, 2013 at age 81 at home with her family.
She was born on May 21, 1931 to Robert Douglas and Ruth Shelton in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Geraldine graduated from the University of Utah as a registered nurse in 1952 and later that year married Morton Brigham Cutler who she met in a Ballroom dance class. This marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on December 26, 1952. Gerry worked as a nurse, and later as a relief worker for the Red Cross. She went to Idaho to help the survivors of the Teton Dam when it broke. She also loved being a docent at the Museum of Natural History at the University of Utah. Gerry loved to canoe and camp in southern Utah. She also loved to visit the zoo.
Survived by her brother Pearce Shelton and her sister Margo Mitchell. Gerry had eight children, seven of whom are living, Lisa Ann Norman, Kathleen Cutler, Judy Lee Mooso, Craig Shelton Cutler, James Eric Cutler, John Shelton Cutler, and Jennifer Ann Cutler. She has six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Morton.
There will be a viewing on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Magna Utah Central Stake, 8181 West Breeze Drive (3320 South) in Magna from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hogle Zoo in her name.
Gerry's family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice for their help, and in particular two nurses, Alex and Kathy.
