Gladys Dial Best passed away peacefully on February 25, 2013 in Sandy, Utah. She was born on March 14, 1925 in Shelley, Idaho to William Hiram Dial and Della Lovisa Beckstrand. Gladys graduated from Shelley High School in 1943.
She married Alfred Quintin Best in the Logan LDS Temple on June 29, 1945.
Gladys was a very accomplished pianist and organist and she shared her talents with many throughout her life.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She will be sorely missed.
Survived by her children, Linnita (Ted) Proctor, Phyllis (Lynn-deceased) Smith, Lucille (David) Houser, Bonnie (Douglas) Smith, Darrell (Kim) Best, Suzanne (Kim) Thacker, Brent (Lisa) Best, Kent (Laura) Best, Douglas (Laura) Best, Amy (Bradley) Mayeda, Natalie (Bruce) Cline, 49 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, brother Francis Dial, sisters Ina Andrus, Ilene Gygi and Leona Kelly, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, brothers Linden, Leland and Jay Dial, her sister Ada Taylor, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Crescent 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 949 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah at 12:00 noon. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
