Kaye Marie Arthur Obituary
1945 ~ 2012
Our beloved sister, Kaye peacefully returned to the arms of her parents, Audrey Marie Bowers & Edward E. Arthur at age 66 after a valiant struggle with Colon Cancer on May 31st 2012 in Riverton, Utah She was the second of eight children.
Kaye loved life and all that it offered. She made everyone feel special with her big heart. Kaye graduated from East High School in 1964. Traveling was a passion whether in book or in person visiting Canada, England and sections of Europe. Kaye served an Honorable L.D.S. Mission to Massachusetts, New England beginning in 1967.
Kaye had a great love for children especially Laurel, Ashley & Cameron Wilhelm. Kaye's greatest joy was her niece, Laurel Marie Wilhelm. "Aunt Kaye" doted on Laurel from birth and was her ever present companion and surrogate mother. Aunt Kaye spent many hours nurturing, reading, playing in the park, shopping at the store, and lavishing unconditional love on Laurel-encouraging, supporting and finding pleasure in Laurel's many simple accomplishments. Kaye, by her example emulated the Savior's love, giving compassion and encouragement.
She lovingly cared for her grandmother Vera Marie Chamberlin Bowers prior to her passing in 1989. Her cheerful smile, wonderful giggle, warm wit and unique "Hello" greeted many family & friends. She particularly enjoyed her LDS Church calling working in the Ward Library for over 25 years.
Kaye loved playing with her nieces and nephews, baseball games, her legendary horse collection, old movies & westerns, gardening, camping, handy-work of all types, and family reunions. From a young age she loved sports and was a sought after team member for her athletic prowess by all the guys in the neighborhood. Bowling was a delight for her. Kaye had a special connection with any creature on four feet. As a youth, she loved playing games, riding her bicycle.
Kaye was an enthusiastic Jazz fan (in front of the television) for nearly every game. Her favorite quote came from a beloved uncle:"Always find something that needs to be done, & do it; clean it up; put it away" This was her legacy and she lived it with devoted faith.
Kaye's forever love embraces: Clayne(Suzanne)Arthur, Karen J. Arthur, Ron (Lorrie)Arthur, Beverly Wilhelm, Rob (Sherry) Arthur, Julie (Dennis)Olson, Nieces, Nephews, 12 Great Nieces & Nephews, extended family and a host of Dear friends. Kaye was preceded in death by her beloved parents, an older brother, Edward Bowers Arthur, and loving grandparents.
On behalf of the family, we wish to extend a sincere and special appreciation to all those who were involved in the loving & gentle care of Kaye over the past 2.5 years. A special acknowledgement to Dr. Jonathan Whisenant, The family acknowledges a deep gratitude to our sister Beverly Wilhelm for her loving, nurturing, caring, and selfless support during Kaye's final days on earth.
