Larry Kent Simpson Obituary
Larry Kent Simpson
1962 ~ 2018

Larry Kent Simpson, 55, passed away April 12, 2018 in Bountiful, Utah. He was the youngest child born to William Andrew and Nada Simpson on November 18, 1962 at Nephi, Utah.
After having suffered an auto accident in 1995, Larry has courageously endured 23 years as a paraplegic. He rarely complained. We can only imagine as Larry is free from his paralyzed body that he is running to greet his parents and those he loves who have passed.
Larry's greatest enjoyments in life were horses, dogs, hunting and fishing with family, and various gadgets. From a young age he had a huge interest in rodeos, riding horses, and to lead a horse in the arena for show was a satisfying event. Larry will always be our "cowboy". He also liked being employed as a truck driver in the Vernal, UT area, prior to his paralysis. Larry was a dreamer of the future. Those positive thoughts and plans were often what kept him going.
Although he never had children of his own, Larry truly found delight in children and they brought many happy times when visiting him. In recent years he also created friendships with the medical staff who attended to him. We appreciate those who accepted his joking, teasing, and dry wit. As he teased and joked they'd often return the same humorous banter, which gave him joyful moments.
Larry is a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by siblings: Paula Roundy, Rick (Louise) Simpson, Renae Peterson, Leland (Sharon) Simpson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Ryan Simpson, and two brothers-in-law.
Viewings will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So, State Street, Murray, UT. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street, Murray, UT.
