LeeIla Christensen Manwill Obituary
LeeIla Christensen Manwill
1/13/1926 ~ 3/10/2018
I was born in Moroni, Utah on January 13, 1926 to Lyman and Emma Christiansen Christensen. I had an older brother, Floyd and sister, Gloria.
I grew up roaming, exploring and playing on Rocky Hill, looking for arrowheads, lizards and roasting potatoes in an open fire. I never missed a 10 cent movie at the show house or a Saturday dance at the Old Bungalow or Joyland. I married Lynn Manwill on Halloween, 1946 in Las Vegas, later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.
I lived in the three "M" towns - Moroni, Manti, and Murray. I had two kind, smart children, Lynda (Garold Hart) and Ted (Pam); three wonderful, brilliant grandchildren, Tavia (Mark McGrath), Lisa (Peter Marietta), and Tim Manwill; and four amazing, humorous great-grandchildren, Isabella and Max McGrath, Jude and Archer Marietta.
I've always been active in the L.D.S. church, serving in numerous positions. I belonged to the Lewis Sorensen Doll Club for 17 years and loved collecting dolls, as well as designing and sewing clothes for hundreds of them. I enjoyed life to the fullest, including traveling to Denmark, Mexico, Canada, many European countries, and many states in the U.S. including Hawaii. I became an accomplished seamstress, artist, crafter, cook, decorator and avid reader. I've always loved animals and had many pets-cats, dogs, rabbits and even a goat. I've surrounded myself with friends, going to lunch, plays, movies, playing Yahtzee, and chatting on the patio. I credit myself with staying cheerful and positive through hard times and illnesses.
My life time adventure ended on March 10, 2018 and like I always say, "I'll close that chapter now and go on to the next." Thank you to my friends, the dedicated and loving people who took such good care of me at Legacy House of South Jordan, Aspire Home and Hospice, and Aspen Ridge West of Murray. Love to all of you!
