LOIS SHARP Obituary

Lois Thurgood Sharp 1921 ~ 2010 Lois Thurgood Sharp passed peacefully from this life, Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Lois was born in Clearfield, Utah on April 11, 1921 to George Banks and Bertha Moss Thurgood. Over the years, she lived in Ogden, UT, Gardnerville, NV and most recently in Bountiful, UT. Working as a secretary for various businesses including the Utah State Tuberculosis Hospital, the Douglas County Extension Service, and the LDS Church, Lois delighted in associating with interesting people wherever she went. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully fulfilled numerous callings in her wards. Lois enjoyed serving others, being outdoors and working in her garden. She loved sharing home-grown produce with neighbors and family. Widowed three times, Lois was married to three good men: Dean Van Houten, Howard Jorgensen, and Jesse Linn Sharp. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Melvin Thurgood, and sisters, Vera Weir, Bernice Seifert, Lydia Thurgood, and Wanda Hock. She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Michael (Eileen) Hock, Sharon (Thomas) Busby, David (Jeanette) Hock, Bruce (Tamera) Hock, Steven (Michelle) Hock, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends and family may visit from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, Ogden. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
