"Peggy"
Margaret "Peggy" Babcock Green, age 69, of Altamont passed away October 1, 2012 at her home. Margaret was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 26, 1943 to Talbot Babcock & Janet Elizabeth Edwards. Her 1st marriage was to US Navy officer Jared Thayer Lochner (deceased). Her 2nd marriage was to Air Force officer John Martin but ended in divorce & her last marriage to US Army Veteran Wallace Matthew Green (deceased). Margaret was a banker's daughter, a New York Debutante & a patriotic Daughter of the American Revolution. Peggy enjoyed all things outdoors from the ocean beach to the tops of mountains. From camping & boating, to picking vegetables from her garden or fruit from her trees. She was a self-taught student of all things in nature. She was an independent & highly social woman who knew how to take care of things, and inspired all those around her. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lochner (Michael) Hurwitz, Brookline, MA; Kimberly Martin (Rodney) Wilson, West Jordan, UT; Janet Martin (Wayne) Lewis, Sammamish, WA; 7 grandchildren, and sisters, Katherine Babcock (Richard) Hansum, Bluffton, TX; & Janet "Betsy" Babcock Hahn, Mamaroneck, NY.
Services at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 So. 2200 W. Riverton on Saturday, October 6th, 11 am to noon followed by visitors at daughter's home 2448 W 8230 S West Jordan, UT 1-2 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers to & the Animal Humane Society. www.broomheadfuneralhome.com
