Richard Arthur Griffiths, Jr., born November 28, 1925, in Salt Lake City, UT., to Richard A. Griffiths, Sr., and Lillian S. Griffiths, passed away November 21, 2012, at home in Holladay, UT.
Married his high school sweetheart Lorraine Matern on July 10, 1945, in Key West, FL. Dick served in the U.S. Navy as a submarine torpedo man during World War II. After the war, he returned to Salt Lake City and worked at Salt Lake Hardware, as a carpenter, and finished his career at Mountain Bell.
Dick had many passions and they all involved family and the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, play basketball, and especially enjoyed golfing. He loved his family and always set wonderful examples for all.
Preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Darlene Kehl, and son, Don.
Survived by his dear wife of 67 years, Lorraine. Also by sons, Dennis (Kay), Lynn (Sharon), daughter Julie (David Carpenter), 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, November 26th at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, Utah.
