Our condolences to the family and to her friends, which were many. Addie was a friend to everyone. She loved her pioneer ancestors. She joined the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in 1981 in the Cornwall Camp, which later became part of the Belvedere Camp. She was active in DUP and graciously hosted our camp meetings in her home and later in her home at St. Joseph's Villa. Our last meeting was in May and she was so glad to have us visit. She was the 1st Vice President in our camp. She shared many fascinating and amusing stories and poems with us that she knew from memory. She was always interested and concerned about others, making them feel welcome and loved. She made me laugh! She made sure all the DUP members received cards for birthdays, Christmas, and other occasions. She was always prepared with the perfect card from her special drawer. She decorated her home each month and each season and just seeing her decorated door brought smiles to all who passed her way. She was a dear friend and I loved her. Bless you, Addie, for all the hugs and smiles and laughter. I know you were welcomed into the arms of our Savior. We will see you in awhile.

It is the end of an era. Our dear Addie has finally Joined Bill and I am sure will have much to talk about. She is an elect lady, basically unafraid of anything and willing to do almost everything. She was one who truly endured to the end. Her humor and graciousness will be missed but we know where she is and know we will see her again. Much love to the family.

Sister Cowles was the most humble, faithful and kindest members of the Salt Lake Wells Stake - the truest friend and most genuine neighbor. She was the most decent woman I ever knew, never once judging or gossiping about anyone. A truly great woman. She knew her gospel backwards and forwards, could recite scripture at length from memory, and was active in her meetings and callings, but most importantly and beautifully, she knew how to be guided by the Spirit in applying her teachings of childhood in practical matters without discussion or lengthy consideration. When she prayed publicly, I always opened my eyes to see if I could see the Lord she was actually talking to. She simply lived the gospel - or as someone once said, Sister Cowles just "did it!" She suffered trials and hardships in her wonderful life, but never questioned "Why me?" and never doubted that the Lord was leading every step and directing every situation for her advancement. She never forgot a birthday or holiday card, and I'm so glad I still have all of them. God bless you, Sweet Friend, for you consistent kindness, trust, confidence and friendship of us for many, many years. Our hearts are sad, but our loss is heaven's gain. We'll see you again soon. just not today. Good night, Dear Heart. God bless. Angels guard. Affectionately, Scout and Mark Edwards
