Scott Stewart Obituary

1957 ~ 2011
Scott Edward Stewart Sr, 54, passed away unexpectedly November 8, 2011. He was born March 16 1957 in San Diego, CA and adopted by loving parents Walter and Ruth Stewart.
He graduated from Spanish Fork High School, attended Utah State University and went on to graduate from the University of Utah School of pharmacy.
He was married to Valeri Irene Neel on August 25th 1978 and later solemnized in the Salt Lake City temple. Together they raised five children and two grandchildren.
Scott owned and operated multiple pharmacies and was loved and respected by those he worked with. He served in multiple leadership roles in the field of pharmacy, most recently on the Board of Directors for the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served faithfully in multiple callings and loved teaching those around him the principles of the gospel of Christ. He always saw the best in everyone, was generous and selfless, and known for being kind to all he met.
He enjoyed waterskiing, boating, and spending time with his family. His true passion in life was snow skiing. He was a ski instructor at Snowbird. He taught all of his children and grandchildren to ski from the time they could walk, and would sometimes ski with them in a backpack before they could walk.
Scott loved his eternal companion and his family. He was very proud of all of his children and grandchildren.
Scott is survived by his wife Valeri Neel Stewart; his children, Jenifer Carpenter (Chris); Shauni Frost (Colby); Scott Stewart (Aleese); Leslee Williams (Kody); and Daniel Stewart (Natalie); 16 granchildren; his siblings, Walter Stewart (Marcia); Sally Buhler (Slade); Alexandra Dedricksen (Steve); and Sam Stewart (Laura); multiple brothers in-law, si2sters in-law, and nieces and nephews; and his parents, Walter and Ruth Stewart of Benjamin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at the Draper LDS chapel at 1617 E 12700 s, Draper, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 10 to 11:30 and also Friday, November 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the same location. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Benjamin Cemetery, Benjamin, Utah.

This morning I woke thinking about Scott. I only new him from several phone conversations and meetings over the past 5 years. I felt like Scott was a friend and he treated me the same way. I am sorry for you loss to the Stewart Family.

As a group we were so excited to have Scott as a member and were thrilled to have had trhe opportunity to meet him in Houston last month. Scott's enthusiasm and love for compounding pharmacy will always be remembered at PCCA - Houston. I'm privileged to have had his professional input and friendship over many years. This news is really a shock to us who just saw him a few weeks ago at our anniversary event.
