He was a family friend for many years. Despite being treated with prejudice, I never knew him to hold a grudge against any person or group. He was a good person and was always willing to help anyone in need, even when life treated him unfairly. I didn´t know him as well as my brother did but I knew what kind of person he was and what he did for others.

Victor was a friend of mine, especially during high school. I hadn´t seen him for decades when we saw each other near the U. He recognized me, and I was grateful for that. He was a good guy (the highest praise I give any). At a time when races didn´t mix often he allowed me to be his friend. I´ll cherish my memories of him forever. I´m his age. I´m white.

Victor was a friend of mine in high school and the friendship lasted for a long time, even though we saw each other infrequently. I last saw him near the University Of Utah many years before he passed away He was a good guy and that´s the highest honor I pay any man. I miss him, just knowing he´s gone.

I knew Victor many years ago and met him when he used to come by the house. His kids Elysha and Tristyn lived upstairs with their Mom above Mary and I when we lived on Third Ave. in Salt Lake from 1970-1972. Victor would stop by and visit with us when he came. We had many great discussions about politics, civil rights, war and peace. He always had a twinkle in his eye and seemed wise beyond his years even as a younger man. His comments and stories always made me think and brought meaning and authenticity to the discussion. After we all moved from Third Ave. I never saw his children again but I did run into Victor on occasion either downtown or out at the airport where he worked sometimes. I still have the poster he gave me many years ago of Seale and Newton. I have always been proud and lucky to count him among my friends.

Just found out about my old friend Victor yesterday and now wish i had a chance to see him again.I always enjoyed the time we got to visit. He was so cool to listen to and be around. When I asked him to help a few friends of mine who needed a lawer he stepped right up and represented them and for very little pay i might add.I bought him a cane about 10 years ago i found at the swap meet for his b-day and i'll never forget how much he loved it.He made me feel about 10 feet tall that day!Funny how we all go are different ways and get to busy to see old friends. I was just thinking about him 2 weeks ago.Bye old friend...Dee and i and the kids will miss you a lot. thankyou for being our friend

Victor was one in a million...I never saw him without a smile on his face, and to say that he inspired happiness and love is an understatement. He was one of the most talented storytellers I ever had the blessing to hear, and could always bring a smile to your face and heart. I will always love and treasure the man that he was. He was like a father to me, and I am grateful for that.
