Wanda Watson Cahoon
1916 - 2012
Moroni, UT-Wanda Cahoon, our loving, caring, and beautiful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at the age of 96 surrounded by her family on August 8, 2012 in Salt Lake City. She resided in Moroni, Utah for the past 93 years of her life. Wanda was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1916, to James Albert and Lola Olsen Watson. She married Ernest Clare Cahoon September 20, 1937, in Nephi, Utah. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple, May 18, 1950.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Mary), Bountiful, Utah, Lynnette (Boyd) Guymon, West Valley, Utah, Patty (Dennis) Nesbit, West Valley, Utah, Carol (Gary) Blain, Spring City, Utah, 21 grandchildren and 57 great grandchildren; sisters, Karma Startup, FaNon Cook, brother, Grant (Stella) Watson. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. After the passing of her husband, she served as a missionary in the Spokane Washington Mission. She served for many years in the Manti Temple. Her main focus in life was her family. She was their greatest supporter. She taught her family how to work and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. She was very talented at homemaking skills such as canning, sewing, quilting and cooking. No one left her home hungry. She lived a life of service by serving others even to the end. She possessed such a will to live and fought to the end. She exceeded everyone's expectations. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Moroni Stake Center in Moroni, Utah at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call Friday, August 10, 2012, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary, 96 No. 100 West, Mt. Pleasant, Utah and Saturday from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Moroni Cemetery. Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com
