Wilma Frederick Deveraux Obituary
FOREVER SWEETHEARTS
On March 14, 2014, Wilma Frederick Deveraux passed from this life to the waiting arms of her eternal sweetheart, Ira Dean Deveraux, at the age of 90. She died from age related conditions. Wilma was born on July 23, 1923 to Willis Frederick and Perchy Dickerson in American Fork, UT. She was the 5th of 7 children. She graduated from American Fork High in 1941 and just last year attended her 72nd class reunion. On April 25, 1942 she married Ira Dean Deveraux and they had two sons, Jim and Brent. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on February 23, 1963. They had celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in April 2009 and Ira passed away August 6th, 2009. Wilma missed him dearly after that. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was involved in Scouting, Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. She and Ira taught Sunday School to both the youth and adults, she was a den mother, and was very involved in quilting with the Relief Society. Service to others was Wilma's motto, she never turned down the opportunity to help someone else, whether it be family, friends or strangers.
Wilma is survived by her two sons, Jim (Bette) Deveraux and Brent (Linda) Deveraux, sister Jean Edwards, 11 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, her sisters, Ida Newman, Ann Beckstead, May Benson and Naomi Park, and her brother Raymond Frederick, a grandson, Aaron Deveraux, and a great-grandson Marshall Aagard. She was also preceded in death by a special daughter-in-law Christine Grace.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Please share a memory at andersonmortuary.com.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Jennifer and Lexie, both with Hearts Hospice for the special and loving care they provided to Wilma in her final weeks
