Bonnie Fay Ray Boggess Obituary
Bonnie Fay Ray Boggess
1938 ~ 2014
Bonnie Fay Ray Boggess passed away surrounded by her family on March 18, 2014. She was born on March 30, 1938 to Edward M. Ray and Zina V. Lloyd. Bonnie married her high school sweetheart Jay Clyde Boggess on April 22, 1957 for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Her home was her heaven on earth. She was a dedicated wife and a skilled homemaker, raising her five jewels (daughters) and one granddaughter.
As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bonnie showed her love and compassion for others by serving as a primary leader and a visiting teaching supervisor. Spring was her favorite time of year as it would bring Easter, lilacs and roses. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling and fishing. Later in life she loved spending time with her grandchildren, always looking forward to the next birthday or holiday, especially Halloween.
Bonnie is survived by her best friend and sweetheart, Jay; daughters, Robyn Mondragon (Scott), Shelly Timothy, Jeannine Highsmith (Pat), Kerrie Heinecke (Rick) and Jill Shipley (Wayne); nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Darrell Ray and Gene Ray. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jaylynne and son-in-law, J.T. Timothy, along with siblings. Even in death her compassion for others was present as she was able to give the gift of sight through donation. Her sweetness and unconditional love will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the East Midvale Stake Center, 240 East 7570 South. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday evening at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street and one hour prior to the services, at the church. Interment, Mt. View Memorial Estates. www.goffmortuary.com
