1939 ~ 2014
Val Quezada passed away on March 27, 2014 in Sandy, Utah with his loving family by his side. Val was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, August 8, 1939 to Eva Basquez Fresquez and Refujio Quezada. He served his country with the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960.
Val married the love of his life, Jennie Barela, in Midvale, Utah, on February 14, 1961. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Val worked for Kennecott Copper Mine for almost 35 years. He loved providing for his family.
He is survived by his son, Victor (Linda) Quezada, sister, Margie (Gary) Rolfe, grandchildren, Kandi Quezada Zamora, Kelsey Quezada, Rick Quezada, great grandchildren, Alyssa, Miguel, Diego and Damien Zamora. Preceded in death by his wife, Jennie, his son, Val, and our dear friend, Uncle Jack.
A viewing will be held at Goff Mortuary on March 31, 2014 from 6-7 p.m. with a short memorial afterwards. Another viewing will be on April 1, 2014 from 10-11 a.m. at Goff. A graveside service will be held on April 1, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Redwood Memorial located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
Our family would like to send out a special thank you to Nurse Staci, from Absolute Compassion along with the staff at South Mountain Dialysis who cared for our hero with love and compassion. Our family would also like to send a special thank you to the Martinez, Barela and Price families for their loving support.
