1928 ~ 2014
Lynn Dee Jackman (Skinny), 86 passed away May 3, 2014 surrounded by his family due to incidents related to age. He was born February 2, 1928 in Magna, Utah to Rulon L & Luella Jenkins Jackman. Lynn was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Lynn grew up in Magna, Utah and was an alumni of Cypres High School. He was later drafted into the Army and served in Korea during the Korean conflict. He later married his high school sweetheart and eternal companion June N. Ames on June 1, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have been eternally blessed with six wonderful children, Steve (Valerie), Dave (Ruth), Doug, Bradley, Sandra Deppe (Keith), Susan Staker (Devin), 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, sister Leola, Survived by sister Janean.
Lynn was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, he served as a devoted Scout leader, mutual president, and strived to be a faithful home teacher. He worked for Kennecott for 38 years.
Lynn enjoyed camping and being outdoors, he was very patient and taught each of his children to fish, hunt, camp, and ride motorcycles, He was a great mechanic and could fix anything, he was always tinkering and trying to make things work just a bit better. You could often hear him say, "When are we going camping", he was always ready to go. His fondest memories are those that he spent with his family outdoors. He and June enjoyed traveling to Arizona for the winter and spending time seeing the sites.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 9th at 12:00 noon at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy.(10600 S) Viewings will be held Thursday, May 8th from 6-8 pm and Friday from 11-11:45 am prior to the service at the same location. Interment Elysian Burial Gardens.
