Joanne "Jody" Scowcroft Woodward, only child of John Fletcher Scowcroft and Ida Amanda Holley, died July 7th, at the age of 91 at her home in Dana Point, CA.
Jody was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. She is a descendent of the early pioneering family Joseph Scowcroft, originating from Lancashire, England. Jody graduated from Stanford University in 1945 with a degree in Political Science and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Athletically gifted all her life, she enjoyed skiing, tennis, horseback riding with golf being her life long passion. Jody played piano and was an avid reader throughout her life. She was a very active member of the Junior League in Los Angles. In 1945 she married George Cliff "Woody" Woodward, co-founder of the retail grocery chain Food King. They traveled extensively with friends until Woody's death in 2002. Together they raised three children.
She is survived by Jan Woodward Stevenson, Jill Woodward and John Woodward; grandchildren Joe Stevenson, Jenny Stevenson, Katie Condon, Brian Condon, and Scott Woodward; great grandchild, Isha Quitine.
