Salt Lake City, UT-Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, Bob, passed away peacefully August 9, 2014 with his family by his side. He had fought a valiant battle with cancer. Bob was born May 6, 1940 in Salt Lake City to LaMar H. and Ruth E. Williams. He married Marie Walton on March 10, 1961. Bob retired from the Utah National Guard after 30 years. He was a wonderful leader. He loved fishing, hunting, and Blue Grass music. The light of his life were his grandsons and great-grandchildren who he adored.
Survived by his wife; children, Val Severson, Stacey (Lynn) Kalan, Christine (Doug) Almond; grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher (Kirsten), Lyle, Zach, Austin; great-grandchildren, McCrae, Kael, Autumn; siblings, Richard (Eloise) Williams, Kathy (Melvin) Dell, RuthAnn (Dave) Safford, and many extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held Friday, August 15th, 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the mortuary and one hour prior to services on Friday. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 124 So. 400 E. Salt Lake City, UT 84111 in the name of Bob Williams.Our family expresses their thanks to our angels, Melissa and Marina with CNS Hospice for their loving care of Bob.
