Scott Blanchard Lundell "Our Hero" Scott Blanchard Lundell was born in Granger, Utah on October 17, 1971 to Norman E. Lundell and Margaret B. Lundell. He was the seventh of eight children. In 1990 he graduated from Granger High School where he was the Student Body President. He served an honorable LDS mission in the Phillipines, Manilla mission. Upon returning he married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Jeanine Lingwall in the Salt Lake Temple on March19, 1993. He graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors degree in economics. Scott and Jeanine were blessed with four beautiful children, Adam (age 10), Allison (age 8), Logan (age 5), Liberty (age 3). Scott was a devoted husband and father and a genuine patriot. He joined the Utah National Guard, 19th Special Forces in June 2004. He became an Officer in March 2005. In June 2006 he volunteered to deploy to Afghanistan. He served as an embedded trainer with the Afghan National Army and was an outstanding officer and soldier. He was killed in action on November 25, 2006. Scott died fighting alongside people he cared about for a cause he believed in. Scott is survived by his wife Jeanine, their children, Adam, Alli, Logan, and Libby; his mother Margaret Hill (Cecil); in-laws David and Carla Lingwall; brother, Kris Lundell (Lisa), Lorilie Lundell, Cindy Morrison (Ron), Pam Hansen (Lyle), Kerri Lundell, Becky Lamb (Clint), Andrea Miner (Aaron), sister-in-law Linda Clay (Michael); brothers-in-law Clint Lingwall (RuthAnn), Steve Lingwall, (Kristi), Nathan Lingwall (Angela), Brent Lingwall (Brianna). As well as loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends and comrades. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Lundell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Church at 3500 South 6400 West, West Valley City, Utah. Friends and family may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and from 9:00 -9:45 a.m. prior to the funeral on Saturday. Interment will follow at Benjamin City Cemetery, with full military honors. Our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation goes out to all our family, friends, neighbors and community for the out pouring of love and kindness we have received. A trust fund has been established for the Lundell children, donations can be made at any Mountain America Credit Union Branch to the Scott Lundell Memorial fund.
