Steven Mark Brown 1966 ~ 2009 Steven Mark Brown, age 42 passed away on May 31, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah as a result of a tragic car accident. Steven was born on September 24, 1966 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Tom and Barbara Brown. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1985 and later from the University of Utah with a BS of Business in 1993. He was a proud Eagle Scout. He served a fulltime mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Florida, Tallahassee Mission from 1986 to 1988. He was employed for many years with dedicated service in management for ZCMI, Kohl's and JC Penney. Steven worked hard at everything he did. Steven married Julie Linnell on January 25, 1989 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with four beautiful children. Steven served many faithful years in his church callings and was currently serving as the High Priest Group Leader in the Welby 6th Ward. He had a very strong testimony and love for the Savior and his family. Steven was the very best husband and dad. He loved his yard and loved being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family. He loved taking his family on vacations to Disneyland and Disney World. He was kind, generous and very giving, including being an organ donor providing the gift of life to others. He always made things comfortable for everyone. We love you, Dad, and we will make you proud. Steven is survived by his dear wife, Julie; his children: Maren, Jeffrey, Kyle and Melanie; his parents, Tom and Barbara, his parents-in-law, Ross and LaVon Linnell; his brother, Scott (Jennifer), brothers-in-law, Scott (Alison), Mark, sister-in-law, Sherrie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and his faithful dog, Molly. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy King and Elmer and Vera Brown. Funeral services for Steven will be held on Thursday, June 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the Welby Stake Center, 8841 So. 4800 West, West Jordan, where family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Please send condolences to the family at www.larkinmortuary.com. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund for Steven's children has been established. Donations may be made at any Key Bank branch in the name of Julie L. Brown.
