RAYMOND BYE Obituary
Raymond S. Bye 1919 ~ 2009 Raymond Sigurd Bye, age 90, died on October 15, 2009, in Sandy, Utah. He was born May 30, 1919 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Sigurd Hjalmar Bye and Alice Marie Johansen. He married Mary Edwards in Wasco, California in 1944, later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ray loved his country, and was a World War II veteran. Lifelong dedicated member of the LDS church, serving in many priesthood leadership positions. His favorite was as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. He enjoyed a career with Curtis Publishing Company (Saturday Evening Post), and as a sales executive. Dad never met a stranger. He was dedicated to his wife, Mary for over 65 years, and loved and taught his children to the very end. He loved family occasions, golfing, horseshoes and playing a Norwegian polka on the harmonica. He is survived by his loving wife, and children Monte, Joseph (Linda), Christine (Terry), Ginny (Jim), sister, Edith and many grand and great-grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and a daughter, Marianne George. Friends and family may call Sunday, October 18, 2009, 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, and again one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Willow Canyon 1st Ward, 9636 South 1700 East. Interment: (approximately 3:00 pm) Charleston City Cemetery, Utah.
