Obituary Condolences

Wayne G. Beck 1933 ~ 2009 Wayne G. Beck passed away Nov. 29, 2009 at home with his family by his side after a long and valiant fight with a chronic blood disease. Wayne was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, UT to Evan Auer and Lura Morley Beck. He married his High School Sweetheart LaRita Lucille Peterson on June 10, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, Aug. 21, 1996. Wayne was a graduate of North Sanpete High School, attended Snow College and served in the U.S. Army for two years. Wayne worked in the Sanpete County Court house for 27 years. He was Clerk/Auditor for 25 years. Wayne was an avid horseman who had many fine Thoroughbred horses and served as President of the Utah Thoroughbred Racing Association. Wayne loved the Utah Utes, a good horse race, trap shooting with his family and a good sleigh ride. Wayne served on the Sanpete County Democratic Committee for many years, which he passed onto his children. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served a two year work mission at the Stake Food Cannery. Survived by wife, LaRita P. Beck; children, David (Lorna) Beck; Diane (Kenneth) Lund; Lorie (Don) Hardy; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Lu (Calvin) Garlick and Paul (Alice Lynn) Beck. Preceded in death by parents, Evan and Lura Beck; brothers Wallace E. Beck, Robert Beck and his favorite horse Hy-Intent. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant 5th Ward Chapel (49 S. State). Friends may call Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
