MARIAN PHILLIPS Obituary
Marian Price Phillips 8/21/1918 ~ 7/8/2010 OGden - Marian Price Phillips passed away quietly; incident to age, on July 8th, 2010, at her home in Country Pines Asst. Living, Clinton, UT.Marian was born on August 21st, 1918 in Springville, Utah to Franklin Daybell Price and Myrtle Peirce. She graduated from Logan High School and attended Utah State Agricultural College. She married Thomas Ray Phillips, whom she met at USAC, on May 19, 1938 in the LDS Logan Temple. "T. Ray" retired as a Captain in the Ogden City Fire Dept. He passed away from cancer on Sept. 14, 1981. Marian was active in the LDS Church. She held many positions, which included Relief Society President. She also served in the PTA and in her community. She worked several years in the Weber County Library and for Flameco fabrication. She enjoyed designing homes for a hobby including the family home on Patterson Street in Ogden. She wrote several family histories, her own personal history, and compiled numerous genealogical stories. She enjoyed connecting her family to their ancestors by telling stories of her family, cousins, extended cousins, and relatives. She enjoyed receiving emails from her grandsons while on their missions. Marian read extensively. When she became legally blind, she continued to "read" books on tape to include the scriptures, Ensign, and other church books. On her computer, she did her finances, kept track of birthdays, and compiled a list of titles and authors of over 4,000 books that she had read. She loved to tell jokes, poems, and limericks and occasionally wrote her own. She is survived by: her children, Michael (Deanne) Phillips, Fruit Heights; Wynn (Karen) Phillips, Pleasant View; Diane (Dale) Stephenson, Provo; Thair (Janna) Phillips, VA; Kim (Valerie) Phillips, Kaysville; Leesa (Phillips) Kapetanov and one foster daughter, Vickie (Reggie) Curry, AZ. She has 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, two foster grandchildren; and one foster great-grandchild. Friends may call on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday at Leavitt's Mortuary and Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden Utah. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 12, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park, on Monday, July 12, 2010.
