Sybil was born on May 24, 1920 in Salt Lake City to Acton and Ivy Naylor Rodwell. She married Gale H. Patterson July 20, 1945. Recently they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary and their 90th birthdays at a particularly festive gathering at her wishes. Sybil graduated from West High in 1937 and attended The University of Utah. As a young woman she worked for the State of Utah, Remington Arms, and the Internal Revenue Service in Salt Lake City. Later the family moved to Denver where she worked for the Colorado DMV, returning to Holladay in 1969. Sybil was a lifelong Presbyterian and a proud member of Mt. Olympus Presbyterian Church since 1971. She was witty, the strength of the family, always kept us laughing and in line, a keen Democrat and at all times the life of the party. A friend to many, beloved by all. She will be deeply missed! She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Amy Williams and Dorothy Goodman.
