BETTY ERICKSON Obituary
Betty Erickson Venice, Utah Betty Alila Olsen Erickson, 83, passed away September 12, 2010, in Richfield, Utah. She was born February 9, 1927, in Ephraim, to Rasmus Ali and Ila Mary Peterson Olsen. She married Eric Gustive "Gus" Erickson January 17, 1946, in Ephraim. The marriage was solemnized November 28, 1951, in the Manti LDS temple. He preceded her in death April 3, 2006. Betty graduated from Ephraim High School and attended one year at Snow College. She and her husband served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Liberty Jail, were ordinance workers in the Manti LDS Temple for seven years. She has held various positions in the Venice LDS Ward and Sevier Stake Relief Society board with significant music leadership roles. They spent several years working in the family history library. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She most enjoyed being her husband's right-hand man herding cattle for various cattle associations on the Fish Lake National Forest and working around home. She was well known as "The Avon Lady" in northwest Richfield, worked at the sewing plant and helping family, neighbors and friends. She is survived by her children, Auna (Lynn) Stone, Venice; Anne (Ernest) Bottomly, Layton; Barry (Marilyn) Erickson, (Glenwood); Clair (Bonnie) Erickson, Tangerine, FL; Melonie (Jerry) Williams, Richfield; 25 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren: sisters-in-law Francis Erickson, Monticello, and Delilah Olsen, Ephraim. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, Lee Hansen; brother and sisters, Eva Peterson, Leon Olsen, Fern Denison, Reed Olsen, Burke Olsen, and JoAnn Armstrong. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 12:00 Noon in the Venice Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary, 50 S. 100 W., Richfield, September 17, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the ward chapel from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Venice Cemetery.
