Olive Putnam Johnson 1922 ~ 2011 Olive Putnam Johnson, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, was called home February 11, 2011, from the loving arms that surrounded her here, and welcomed by her eternal companion, dear family, and treasured friends.She was born May 30, 1922, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Peter Cornia and Olivette Buttle Putnam. She married the love of her life, Harold Durfey Johnson on October 25, 1949, in the Salt Lake Temple. He was her cherished companion for 57 years. Her lifelong focus was her family, and service to those around her. She was a devoted mother whose selfless example of motherhood will be an example to her children, and future generations. She made each of her ten precious grandchildren feel that they were her favorite, and each great grandchild was a special gift. Always a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Olive served in the Northern California Mission, where she met her eternal companion. In addition to many church callings, they served together for 14 years in the Las Vegas Temple. Mom's loves were: babies, Dad's smile, dancing, musicals, friends, entertaining, laughter, her inviting home and her amazing roses. Her passion and talent for music enriched the lives of all her knew her; especially her family, who will always think of her when listening to great music. She leaves behind her daughter Carol Mower (husband Robert), and her son Stan Johnson (wife Kathy). Grandchildren: Kendall Mower (Rachel), Todd Mower (Allison), Janae Rowley (Jace), Eric Mower, Tyler Mower, Kellie Yeates (Bart), Erin King (Cameron), Ryan Johnson, Jenna Pitt (Hyrum), and Kevin Johnson. Great­grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Jennifer Mower; Melanie, Chelsea, and Derek Mower; Caden, Ryan, Tyson and Addie Rowley; Jackson, Carter, and Owen Yeates; Hudson, Sawyer, and new baby girl King; and Will Pitt. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband. The family would like to express appreciation to Dana, Daniel, Kathy and Mandy of Alpine Hospice. We thank you for your supportive, tender care. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Riverwood LDS Chapel, 303 West 3700 North in Provo, Utah.
