1938 ~ 2011
The dog world, her many friends and family will miss Carol Snedaker Hibbard who died September 13 after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma. Surrounded by her family Carol passed peacefully in her home in Portland, OR.
Born in Salt Lake City, May 24, 1938, married F. James Hibbard October 1958. Carol graduated from East High School in 1956 and the University of Utah in 1971 with a degree in Biology. She moved to Portland 1981. She worked as a Cytologist in both Salt Lake City and Portland. She was a founding member of Columbia Agility Team in Portland in 1993. Carol competed in agility and herding trials throughout the U.S. making many lifelong friends along the way.
She is survived by her husband F. James (Jim) Hibbard, three daughters; Christina Williams (Mike), Heidi Gorishek (Todd), Hilary McGaughey (David) and one son, Rick Hibbard (Lisa) and a brother, Lee Snedaker (Joni). She was preceded in death by her father and mother: R. Lloyd and Dorothy Snedaker and one infant son, Peter James.
Memorial Service will be held at 1 P.M, Sat., Sept. 24th at the Community of Hope Lutheran Church, 27817 SW Stafford Road in Wilsonville, OR 97070. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary - www.bestfriends.org or Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation - www.curemeso.org ( A Tribute Wall Page in Carol's name will have a direct link to make a donation).
