Lucy Chamberlain Parr
1924 ~ 2012
Our beloved sister, aunt, and friend Lucy Chamberlain Parr, age 87, passed away May 1, 2012 in Murray, Utah. She was born on July 25, 1924 to Eustace Josiah Chamberlain and Geneva Esplin in Kanab, Utah. She married Robert E. Parr on May 21, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities throughout her life. She was a published author writing several books and many children's stories. She was an avid gardener sharing all her produce with friends and neighbors. Lucy never learned how to drive, therefore she walked almost everywhere she went or took public transportation up until a few days before she passed away. Lucy grew up in a large family of nine children in Orderville, Utah and she had a twin sister, Lillian. She is survived by her youngest sister, Ann Carroll Stewart, many nieces and nephews and loving friends and neighbors. In her neighborhood she was the glue that brought them together. She will be missed by everyone who loved her. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brothers, Lloyd Josiah Chamberlain, Charles Esplin Chamberlain, and her sisters, Florine Stoltz, Geneva McMahoon, Lorna Bruhn, Elinor Tuft, Lillian Covington (twin). Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 5, 2012 at the Wells Ward, 1975 South on 500 East in Salt Lake City, Utah at 1:00 p.m. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
