Joseph Lundskog Obituary

Joseph Roy Lundskog
1942 ~ 2012
Joe (Roy) Lundskog passed away June 27, 2012 In Midway, Utah from a heart attack. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 26, 1942 to Marian T. and Joseph W. Lundskog. He excelled in many sports growing up to include playing on the golf team at Highland High School and working on the ski patrol at Brighton Ski Resort when it still had a rope tow and t-bar. He spent 8 honorable years serving his country in the U.S. Air Force and still found time to graduate from the University of Oklahoma (Go Sooners)! Old Joe Cool, as he was affectionately known, was part of the original Rat Pack to include his lifelong buddies (Jerry Roberts and John Hampshire). Old Joe Cool was the most intriguing, endearing and entertaining man on the planet. He was a master chef (barbecue genius) and loved to cook for family and dear friends. He spent over 40 successful years in the financial world as a wealth advisor for many of the nation's top brokerage firms. He always wore a smile, however mischievous, and had a fantastic story to share with everyone. However, his greatest achievement and the love of his life was his daughter, Amber Leigh Lundskog. He introduced her to golf at an early age and the two of them toured the U.S. together on the junior golf circuit where she became a high school All-American. He watched proudly as she earned a golf scholarship to Vanderbilt University and went on to earn her Master's Degree from the university. Go Commodores! Old Joe Cool retired and moved to Camelot (Midway, Utah) to be close to his brother, Bill, and 'fire it up' either skiing or playing golf every day. As Old Joe Cool always said, "I've got ya covered."
He is survived by his daughter, Amber and brother, Wilford J. (Bill) Lundskog.
An Open House to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, July 14, at Bill's home in Midway (Heber Valley) from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. The address is 1333 N. Montreux Dr. (in the Valais sub division).
For directions, phone Bill (801-631-2898). Instead of flowers please send donations to the San Diego Junior Golf Association (SDJGA, 6155 Cornerstone Ct E, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92121).

The reunion in heaven may have been even bigger and better than the one here in Utah this month (and that's saying a lot). Cousins are precious in this family, and we all share the loss. Our most tender good wishes to Bill and all those who have lost someone so dear. Love you!
