Martin Wayne Larsen Obituary
1952 ~ 2012
Our beloved son and brother, Martin Wayne Larsen, passed from this life into the waiting arms of his father on October 1, 2012.
Born November 9, 1952 in Salt Lake City to Earl Kay and Helen Edith Murrish Larsen. It was a privilege and a blessing to have him in our family. We enjoyed his cheerful spirit, joking ways and mischievous smile. He loved fishing, dancing, deer and elk, camping, bowling, Elvis, Doug Miller, tomato sandwiches, ice cream and Dr. Pepper.
Born with Down's Syndrome, his parents were told he would live only a few years and to institutionalize him from the start. They chose instead to take him home to be part of their family. What joy he brought to everyone!
Survived by mother Helen; siblings Richard Larsen, Linda and Bob Case, Karen and Craig Mortensen, Judy and Jeff Nordgren (all of Salt Lake), Terry and Tim Hair (of Nampa, Idaho); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his father and numerous loved ones.
Everyone who met him loved him. We wish to thank everyone at Fairview East Care Center and One Care Hospice for their tender care-especially Colleen, Charlie and Sara.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 4, 11 a.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens cemetery (1950 East 10600 South in Sandy). Friends may call Wednesday, October 3, 6-8 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens mortuary (1950 East 10600 South in Sandy).
