Harvey Wilhelm Obituary
At approximately 4:00pm on November 24, 2012, Harvey LeRoy Wilhelm passed peacefully from mortality at age 68, surrounded by the love and support of his family on both sides of the veil. After 11 years of battling cancer with a smile on his face, a sudden onset of pneumonia was too much for him. Harvey is a truly unique and special child of our Heavenly Father as anyone who has spent even five minutes with him could attest. Few people in this world can make absolutely everyone they meet feel as if they matter, but he did.
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Carl LeRoy Wilhelm and Mabel Rogers Wilhelm, and survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Molly Gort, four children and their spouses: Roy and Beva Wilhelm, Laryssa and Bryan Waldron, Fiona and Brett Ostler, and Cameron and Holly Wilhelm, as well as 12 grandchildren. As stated by his sister, Harv leaves a huge void in all our lives because he was larger than life. He was technicolor in a black and white world.
A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, November 29, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Social Hall (North End) of the LDS Church on 1200 N. 1200 W. in Salt Lake City. A second viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. the next day in the same location, with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the North Chapel. I was just told of Harvey's death from a colleague of mine. He did a long sub job at Kennedy Jr. High in the English department. He was by far, the best and most dedicated "teacher/sub" the school ever had. I always enjoyed my daily conversations with him in the office. He was a very smart and caring man. He will be missed by many. I'm glad our paths crossed as I am a better person.

Dearest Wilhelms, you cannot know how many times I have reflected on your wonderful family and been grateful that my daughter was a part of you. Cameron has such great examples. I see him passing all those blessing on to my grandchildren, as well as a lot of smarts and musical talent. Harvey was a gentle soul and so is my son-in-law. He was taught by the best! May your memories of Harvey be gentle and lovely as the years slip away. Love you all!

I worked with Harvey at Bonneville Jr. High and he was always so warm and friendly. I loved his voice and told him he should do radio. He always had a kind word and he's been missed sice he left. Condolences and best wishes to the family.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Wilhelm Family. I have many fond memories of Harvey; we were playmates when we were in Grade School in good old St. Johns Arizona and spent many happy hours together. As has been said, Harvey was a very gentle person and a great intellect. It is a comfort to know that he is now reunited with his wonderful parents.

Just last weed Harvey and I were talking about learning Gaelic Irish and taking a trip to Ireland. Harvey, you were one of the smartest and friendliest men I have ever known.

To the Wilhelm family,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Harv's death and I would like to express to you my sincere sadness and sympathies to you and your family at this difficult time. Harv was a highly valuable and respected member of our team at WGU and the effects of his loss are already being felt here by his fellow employees.
During his time with WGU, his dedication and selfless nature was always something that many others could only hope to attain and all who knew him regarded him with great respect and admiration. During his time here he helped the company move forward in great strides and his efforts and contributions will never be forgotten. Harv was a remarkable man and we here at WGU are all better people for having known him.

Dear Molly,
