Ephraim, UT-Daniel Kent Olsen, passed away at the age of 64, on April 1, 2013. He was born on August 18, 1948 in Payson, Utah to Daniel Ward Olsen and Deon Tew. At 19, he served a mission to Denmark. He married Kathleen Snarr on June 25, 1971 in the Manti Temple. He graduated from Weber State College with a Bachelor's degree. Much of Kent's life was service to others as an EMT, volunteer fireman, Hunter Safety Instructor and scout leader, receiving the Silver Beaver Award. Kent was an active member of the LDS church. He is survived by his wife, children, Jeremiah (Shandy) Olsen of Payson, Utah and Mariah (Kelly) Ranier of Taos, New Mexico. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Kenyon, Kayl, Tishina and Pretty Plume. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Challas Snarr. Kent is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Ward Olsen and Deon Tew and his father-in-law, LaVere Snarr. He leaves behind; Eileen (Charles) Jeffs, Helen (Blaine) Robertson, Jay (Tawny) Olsen, Darrel (Corinne) Olsen, and Vaughn (Miriam) Olsen and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim 1st ward church (450 N 200 W). Viewing will be held at the church Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Friday preceding the service from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Ephraim Cemetery.
