Helen Rae Palmer Owen, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandma & great-grandma passed away quietly October 5, 2013.
She was the eighth of nine children born to Hazen Edward and Mae Olivia Palmer on May 30, 1936 in Brigham city, Utah. She married John Cox Owen in the LDS Salt Lake temple in September 1957 and later moved to San Jose, California where they raised their 6 children. She was a devoted mother focused on home and family. She served in many capacities in the LDS faith. Helen enjoyed music both singing and playing the piano. John and Helen returned to Utah in 1987 living in American Fork. She enjoyed working for UVU Continuing Education for a decade. She loved seeing her grandchildren grow and develop.
She fought through many illnesses with dignity and fortitude. The family would like to thank the caregivers that attended to her needs with kindness.
She is survived by her sisters Renee and Pat and children Randy (Suzette), Blaine, Tracy Prince, Ann Dumas (Dan), Holly Nielsen (Doug) and Charles. She was blessed with 24 grandchildren (2 currently in the mission field), 6 great-grandchildren with 2 more about to arrive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork 26th Ward 995 North 60 East. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary 49 East 100 No. and at the Church Tuesday 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery.
