Newell Hatch Obituary
Aurora, Utah-Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son and brother, Newell John Hatch, age 73, died suddenly, but peacefully, October 5, 2013 in Cedar City, Utah.
He was born October 30, 1939 in Aurora, a son of Lloyd Ceral and Nellie Harding Hatch. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1957.
In his early years, Newell was a horse jockey. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Mecham, January 7, 1961 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, January 7, 2000.
Newell was a welder by trade. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, can collecting and collecting antiques. He was a relentless teaser!!! Newell loved his family and he will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his mother, Nellie Hatch of Salina; his beloved wife, Mary Ann of Aurora; children: Janeen and Lee R. Sorensen of Fairview; Shelley and Joey Carlson of Lehi; Cami and Daren Lovell of Enoch; John and Celest Hatch of Riverton; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five brothers: Ronald and Jerrie Hatch of West Valley City; Jarvis and Cathy Hatch of Clifton, Colorado; David and Carol Hatch of Heber City; Michael and Kim Hatch of Brigham City; Scott and Janet Hatch of Salina.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd C. Hatch.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.

Our entire family is so very sorry for your loss. Newell always had such a big, warm, friendly heart with a friendly smile just as big. All who ever gathered in Grandma Nellie's kitchen will miss his laughter and teasing. We will also miss the fishing stories and hearing where all "the big ones are biting." Dear Mary Ann and family, I am so sorry to here about Newell. He was such a wonderful person. I know he will be greatly missed but you will have wonderful memories of him to carry you through until you are together again as an eternal family. I am sorry we have not seen each other more often but distance and family has made it difficult. I will always remember your hospitality when our son Jeff got married. We love you.

Mary Ann and family,
My condolences on Newell's death. He was always so friendly and used to drop by the apartment Michael, Dennis, Rocky and I shared in the 1970's. Please don't take this the wrong way, but he always had more hair than most of the Hatch's. I have fond memories of him through my association with Michael and I wish you all my sympathy at this time.

Dearest Mary Ann, Aunt Nellie, and Family, Oh, I am so sad for your loss. Newell has been a great cousin, and will be missed. I always appreciated his kind personality along with his keen sense of humor. He comes from a great family of Hatch's, and he has shown such a great respect for his mother for these last many years, and we know how much he has loved you.
