C. Burr Clayton
1928 ~ 2013
Salt Lake City, UT-Our beloved father and grandfather left this world to rejoin with his wife Diane, son Steven, parents and Sister Edna, on November 21st, 2013 at the age of 85. Burr is survived by daughters, Shauna (Kirk/deceased) Partner and Connie (David) Ramos; also leaving behind, his sister Audrey Maness, 8 grandchildren and one great grandson. Burr was born August 23, 1928 in Oil City, PA. He married his sweetheart Diane Dallimore on August 13th, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Burr proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He was an extremely hardworking man holding down many times three jobs to support his family. These included Airport Security, T.V. repairman and most of all a dedicated full time Salt Lake City Police officer for 31 years. Dad loved the outdoors and would hunt, fish or go boating as often as life would allow him. Dad was not one to sit still and was always busy serving friends or family. He was well respected and loved, in part due to his kind heart and inherent need to serve others. We remember him shoveling entire blocks of sidewalks in the winter to spare his friends and neighbors from having to step out into the bitter cold. Even up to his last breath, his heart was full of love and giving. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, until we meet again…..
Services will be held Wednesday, November 27th at 11:00AM at the Peachwood Ward House on 3963 S. Peachwood Dr. (3480 W.). Viewing will be November 26th at Wasatch Lawn Memorial from 6pm to 8pm located on 3401 South Highland Dr. Friends and family may also be received one hour prior to services.
