"Papa"
Loving husband, father, papa, brother and son passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 6th, 2014 after suffering a massive stroke. Miles was born in San Francisco, California on July 1st, 1950 to E. Keith Lignell and Marian Heilbut Lignell. He graduated from Highland High School, the University of Utah and the University of Puget Sound Law School and served in the United States Army. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a missionary in the Northwestern States mission from 1970-1972. He was sealed for time and all eternity to Claudia Harrison in the Salt Lake Temple on May 30th, 1973. Father of Adam Miles Lignell (Amber), Adriane Lignell Geurts (Phillip), Warren Keith Lignell (Kelli), Elliot Karl Lignell (Kristin) and Alex Stephen Lignell (Caroline). Survived by his wife, Claudia Harrison Lignell, father, brothers, sister, children and grandchildren. His biggest joy in life were his grandchildren who called him, "Papa", Justin Phillip Geurts, Derek Charles Geurts, Brooke Lignell, Ethan Adam Lignell, Natalie Geurts, Blake Warren Lignell, Lindsey Michelle Lignell, Courtney Geurts, Sarah Lignell, Clayton Miles Lignell, Ashley Belle Lignell, Dylan Keith Lignell and Harrison Karl Lignell. His gift of music touched many lives and Miles enjoyed playing the guitar in a family band. We would like to thank the staff at Intermountain Medical Center for their loving service.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 11:00 am. Viewings will be on Tuesday, February 11th from 6:00-8:00pm and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Services and viewings will be held at the Harvest Park 1st Ward building, 12173 S 4000 W, Riverton, Utah 84096. Interment will be at the Highland Cemetery, 6100 N 11000 N, Highland, Utah 84003. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Miles Lignell Fund at miles.lignell.com. Directors Independent Funeral Service.
