Robert Clark Fails passed away peacefully February 26, 2014 at the age of 84, after battling Alzheimer's for several years. Bob was born on January 26, 1930 in Rupert, Idaho to Adrian David and Pearl Clark Fails. He was the youngest of five boys.
Bob always had fun stories to tell about growing up on the farm in Idaho and serving in the military. Bob lead a rich life. He graduated from Acequia High School. He joined the Air National Guard and served an LDS mission in the North Central States. After he returned home he joined the Navy and was stationed in the Philippine Islands. He married Lois Johnson, on September 25, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with four daughters. Lois and his daughters continued to love and take care of him up until his passing. He worked at Cook Lumber for many years as Office Manager and retired from the Salt Lake City School District. He had a strong testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ and held many church callings including Stake Executive Secretary, Bishop's counselor, High Priest Group Leader, Teacher and Membership Clerk. With his wife he served in the office at the Jordan River Temple for three years. Bob loved to take Sunday drives and working in his yard. He never lost his sense of humor and love for those around him. He was a great friend and was always caring and supportive. Bob always made an impression on those he met. He was genuine and kind hearted. He was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Friend, Mentor and Hero. We love him and will miss him greatly.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois, and his four daughters Diane (Dave) Fullmer, Debbie (Tom) Stowe, Brenda (Dave) Pierson, Shauna (Les) Jones, and his 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, they would make him light up every time he saw them. Grandpa would always keep them laughing. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
