Another year has come and with it comes marking the anniversary of the passing of my Dear Friend Carey. When I look at pictures of him all I think about is the many good times we had growing up in school with each other. He was like a brother to me, he and I had some great times together! When I think back on the life of Carey the Comedian Red Skelton comes to mind. How Red would wear a hat and make different characters just by bending it, stretching it, pulling it over his head..this was Carey!! He would do this during Lunch Break in the School Hall, while traveling on a bus, in the locker room. Carey always had the ability to get a person laughing when they were down.
He was goofy, funny, crazy, a Great Guy, and a Good Friend!
I miss you Buddy!

With the anniversary of the passing away of a great friend of mine, I have had many thoughts of the lifelong effect that Carey had on my life. He was one of my best friends. He was as my mother put it a twin of mine! If either of us was in trouble in High School, well one of us got blamed, especially since my mother was the secretary at the high school. Carey and I liked to pull pranks and joke around, sometimes a little too much, so we kind of were a pair or mischievous guys! Carey was always telling a joke or making a funny face or walking in a certain way to make us laugh. He was the life of the party and had a contagious laugh that only he had! I miss my buddy! I wasn't around him much in the later years, maybe when he came to Henefer Utah during the 4th of July when my family lived there. I regret not keeping closer to Carey. He was one of my groomsman in my wedding line, he was a fellow band member trumpet player, a fellow actor in the school plays and traveling assemblies. He is missed. I love you my dear friend, until we meet again!!

Once in a lifetime person comes into your life that can make a difference. That person to me was Carey. He and I grew up together and formed a great friendship. My mother would always kid with us and call us the trouble twins at times.
Carey and I would always be up to something. We both liked to pull pranks on those in our class, plus each other. He and I would always have fun together. In Band both of us played the trumpet, and would purposely play the wrong note. Mr. Morgan would give us that stare, we would laugh.
I know that we both gave Mr. Greenwall a hard time in Art. We would be assigned something to draw and by the time we turned the project in, it was completely different from what our assignment was.
We were in a school singing group called Sweet & Sour and would be part of a traveling assembly that would perforn at other schools around the State of Utah and also in Idaho. I can still remember him when we sang the song, "Battle of New Orleans" we took a little trip Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip' Carey would make us all laugh and we could not make it through the song.
He was a friend, a great person and a brother to me. I have not seen him for a few years which I would do anything to see him one more time and reminis about the good times at school.
Carey, thank you for being there for me and being my friend. I will miss you, but know that through God's Plan, we may see each other again, and then we can laugh about our times at school.
