Ronald Joseph Hannon October 4, 1944 - May 13, 2016 Ron Hannon was born on October 4, 1944 in Green Bay, WI to Marina and Emerson Hannon. Ron passed on May 13, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Emerson. Ron graduated from East High School and joined the United States Air Force. He served his country for 20 years including tours to Viet Nam, Germany, and Turkey. In 1978 he was stationed at George Air Force Base, Victorville. He remained in the High Desert for the rest of his life. He loved golf and while station in the Air Force he worked weekends at the West Winds Golf Course. After his retirement from the Air Force, Ron was employed by Northrop Grumman, at both Edwards AFB and the Palmdale Plant, for 22 years. While employed with Northrop he was involved with the start­up, flight test and production of the B­2 Stealth Bomber program. Ron is survived by his wife of 33 years, Meredith; his mother, Marina; son, Brian D. Hannon and wife Melissa; son, Robert J. Hannon and daughter Melissa L. Kadel and husband Bret. The lights of his life, grandchildren, Ashtyn Brannon, Karsyn Benedict, Emily Hannon, Myranda McCurdy, Evan Hannon, Kelsey McCurdy, and one great grandson, Hunter Stratton. He is also survived by brother, Thomas Hannon and wife Dianne; sister, Patricia Williams; and brother Daniel and wife Teri, and his beloved dog Bella. Ron was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed returning to Green Bay and attending Packer games at Lambeau Field with friends and family. Ron was always involved with all of his children and grandchildren. He coached baseball, umpired, and had a mean curveball as a pitcher for his squadron softball team. He enjoyed his boy's high school football and baseball games, as well as his daughter's softball games and dance recitals. Ron enjoyed traveling with his family and introduced them to the world outside of the U.S. He taught his children how to appreciate other cultures and people from different walks of life. He also enjoyed music and shared his wide taste with all. You just never knew what you would hear when you got into car with him; from AC/DC to Garth Brooks even Pitbull, all was fair game. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 27th, 2016 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary at 4 PM. Located at 24000 Waalew Rd. Apple Valley CA, 92307. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, American Heart Association or the NEXT program at High Desert Church.
