Caroline (Carol) Dusak

CAROLINE (CAROL) DUSAK My beautiful, sweet Caroline (Carol) Dusak, passed away on February 12th, 2013 at Sterling Commons from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was 62 years old, born February 10th 1951 in Aurora, Colorado. Carol has lived in Apple valley for 34 years. Caroline, a registered dental assistant formerly assisted Dr. Steven Kratofil, D.D.S. and Dr. James Fowlie D.D.S. in Apple Valley from 1994 to September 2006, and with Dr. James Willis D.D.S. from 1979 to 1994 in Apple Valley. Caroline graduated from Aurora High School and then Dental assistant school in Aurora in the late 60's. She fell in love with Jerry Dusak and he with her in 1969. They married November 1970, having a blessed marriage over 42 years. They moved to Long Beach, California living there for seven years. She gave birth to Joshua in 1977. Then moving to Apple Valley gave birth to Matthew in 1981. She worked as a registered dental assistant until September 2006 and Jerry as a registered surgical nurse at St. Mary's hospital for over 33 years, retiring in August 2012. Caroline was a very sweet, beautiful, loving person with a beautiful smile, loving others and being loved in return. She loved children. She surely will be missed by those who knew her. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Desert Church in Apple Valley. She was a lector for over 25 years and a member of the Catholic Daughters and serving as spiritual enhancement chairperson. As our two boys were growing up she volunteered at St. Mary's grammar school being a recess monitor. She would happily help our sons with school projects. She was a Webelos and Cub Scout den mother and later active in the Boy Scouts. She was known for her delicious deviled eggs and would make them for any food fest. I was envied at work for my daily, freshly morning made, large lunch salads. Caroline enjoyed going to the beach, long walks on the beach and riding bikes. She loved the mountains, camping, hiking, and some backpacking. Caroline also loved our clear starry desert nights, knew the names of and could identify most constellations. She would get up in the wee hours of the morning to watch known meteor showers. She loved to watch birds at home, in the mountains and especially pelicans at the beach. One very special thing we did when first married in the summer of 1975, with packs on our backs, was traveling on the trains visiting Europe's countries and hitchhiking through Ireland, and returning to our beautiful America after 77 days. Caroline is survived by Jerry (Girard) Dusak her husband, Joshua Dusak, her first son, Matthew Dusak, her second son and Marlina Dusak, her daughter-in-law, wife of Matthew, carrying her first grandchild in utero, all living in Apple Valley. She is also survived by Doyle, her older brother and Phyllis his wife, living in Round Rock, Texas; June, her older sister and Doug, her husband, living in Topeka, Kansas; and Cliff, her younger brother, living in Aurora, Colorado. Our sweet Caroline, you know you are loved. We are happy for you being with our Lord. We will be with you again some day. Thank you for loving us!
