CHARLES G. ALBRECHT

CHARLES G. ALBRECHT 2/04/1930 - 1/15/2014 Charles G. Albrecht "Hook", 84, of Victorville, CA passed away peacefully with his wife and family members at his side. He was born on Feb. 4, 1930 in Gary, Indiana to Charles and Margaret Albrecht, the first of four children. He was married to Dotty Bradley Albrecht and enjoyed a happy marriage for 48 years. Charles graduated from Lew Wallace High School in Gary, IN in 1948 and also attended Indiana University on a basketball scholarship. He was a member of the Ironworkers Union 395 in Hammond and owned an auto dealership in California. His pleasure was found at the Race Track, either the OTB, Del Mar or Santa Anita in California. Hook is survived by his wife Dotty, two sons: Daniel and Chuck (Tammy), three daughters: Carrie Murphy (Graydon), Valerie Austin (Dan), Lisa Cortazar, 22 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and three step children: Bob Bradley, Don Bradley and Susan Bradley (Silva), two sisters: Muncie Karabin (Ray) and Yolanda Smurdon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Frank Albrecht (Donna). He is survived by numerous friends and other relatives, nieces and nephews. To my horse racing friends, "Let it ride!" and to all, "So long till we meet again!" A funeral service will be held in Victorville at Desert View Funeral Home on 1/27/2014 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Loma Linda Children's Cancer Foundation at Loma Linda Hospital in Riverside, CA. in honor of Charles G. Albrecht "Hook".
