HELEN JEAN KENDERS On Thursday March 7, 2013 at 91 years and "old enough to know better and young enough not to care", Helen Jean Kenders went home to Jesus. Helen moved on after family and friends said goodbye in person and through loving phone calls. She was surrounded by her three daughters at home in La Mirada, CA when she decided to leave her earthly body. Helen was born in Joplin, Missouri, May 18, 1921. She spent her young years living with many relatives in Marionville, Missouri. Her family moved to Colorado for gold panning in the 1930's and then later to Morro Bay and Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Los Angeles and went on to secretarial college. Her favorite job she held was working for National Geographic in Washington, DC typing field reports. She worked 30 years in Barstow, CA as a procurement clerk at the Marine Base. Helen demonstrated her fierce love for her family by her many prayers and constant concern. She watches over her children from Heaven: George Earl Holt of Bozeman, MT; Michele and Fred Hess of Mohave Valley, AZ; Valerie and Eddie Cisneros of La Mirada, CA; and Kit and Wes Rowland of San Luis Obispo, CA. She was also blessed with ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Helen wished for no memorial services. She simply wanted all who knew her to remember her in their hearts with her saying "I love you dearly".
