HENRIETTA FACTEAU VINCENT 6/20/1920 - 2/15/2014 Henrietta Facteau Vincent of Tupper Lake, New York, previously of Barstow, California, Henrietta went into the arms of Jesus on February 15th, at the age of 93, after a brief illness. Born June 20th, 1920, in Tupper Lake, New York, she was the daughter of Dr. Henry H. Facteau and his wife Rosetta. In April 1944, she enlisted in the U.S. Army
and served honorably until discharged in December 1945. While stationed at Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada, she met her husband, Gene Vincent. They married November 5th, 1945. The couple was married 57 years. Henrietta was widowed in Barstow, CA, 2002. She lived in Barstow for over 27 years and was an active member of the Friends of the Library and the Barstow Art Guild. She was also a life member of the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. An avid painter and devoted mother, Henrietta always seemed happiest when talking and visiting with her children or when painting. She also loved to read and played the piano. She was proud that in her later years she learned to use the computer to email and use Google. She also kept in touch with all her children, grandchildren, and her many friends, via her Facebook page. She continued to do so after she moved back to her home in Tupper Lake, NY, in 2010. Henrietta loved her time in Barstow and often spoke of the beauty of the desert. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul, her parents and her husband, Gene, and two grandsons. Henrietta raised her family with much love and great humor; and taught each child the values of her great faith. She leaves behind six children and three grandchildren. Henrietta was a member of St Alphonsus-Holy Name of Jesus parish in Tupper Lake, NY and St Joseph's parish in Barstow, CA. A Funeral Mass was held at St Alphonsus Catholic Church February 19th. Burial will be in Arlington, VA, next to her beloved Gene. Donations in her honor may be made to St Joseph's Catholic Church Religious Education Program or Desert Manna.
