William Maurice Marshall

WILLIAM MAURICE MARSHALL 3/10/1917 - 12/13/2013 William Maurice Marshall passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Polidori House in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was 96 and lived a long and fulfilling life. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Ida (they were married for 65 years). Maury was born in Eddyville Nebraska, the oldest of 11 children. He moved with his family to Victorville, California in 1954, where he and Ida lived until they retired in 1979. While in Victorville, he was in the elementary school district as head of transportation and maintenance. They moved to Mohave Valley in 1979 and enjoyed their retirement very much. He and Ida were active members of the Mohave Valley United Methodist Church, and he was a 32nd degree member of the Masonic lodge for more than 50 years. He loved woodworking, fishing, traveling in their motorhome, playing cards, and visiting family and friends and his various members of the masonic order. He is survived by his son Jim (Deborah) Marshall of Toronto, Ontario, daughter Harriet (Roger) Spriggs of Battle Creek, Michigan, grandchildren Tim (Diane) Marshall, Lois (Brad) Smith, Will (Mary) Marshall, Jeremy Bennington, Harold (Jessie) Spriggs, 7 great grandchildren, 1 brother and 5 sisters. In addition to his wife, Ida, he was preceded in death by daughters Barbara Marshall and Marian Zuppa, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. A memorial service for Maurice is planned for Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Mohave Valley United Methodist Church, 1593 Lipan Blvd., Fort Mohave, Arizona at 11:00am with luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mohave Valley United Methodist Church or to Hospice of Havasu in his memory.
