BARBARA CLARKE 11/10/1923 - 4/30/2013 Barbara A Clarke went home to be with Lord Jesus on April 30, 2013. She was born in San Francisco CA on Nov 10, 1923, where she attended & graduated from school. Barbara was married & widowed very young. She had to move to Napa CA to live with her mom and dad, where a few years later she met James (Jim) Clarke. Soon they were married, Jim adopted her 2 young children and they all started a new life. Barbara's life was dedicated to her family. She never thought of herself always thought of her family first and enjoyed helping others. Her husband Jim, an engineer, was in the construction business, and worked on the California aqueduct, coming to the high desert in the middle 60s. Living first in Hesperia, they moved to Apple Valley and decided to retire in the high desert. Barbara love to play golf with her husband. They were members of Apple Valley Country Club. They enjoyed annual summer fishing trips to Klamath. After her husband's death in 1994, she became a volunteer for the Happy Trails Foundation from 1995- 1997. Then she decided to volunteer at St. Mary's auxiliary. From 1998-2008 she worked at the front desk and she loved it very much, enjoying the people and helping others. She truly hated to give it up. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Norma, father Dee, husband Jim, son Jack and Grandson Jimmy. Barbara is survived by her Sister Jean Zell, Daughter Judy Clarke, Granddaughter Colleen, 5 Great grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren and a wide circle of family and friends. Barbara chose not to have a funeral and wished donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Women's Heart Foundation.
