ERNST CHRISTIAN HARDIES Ernst Christian Hardies of Apple Valley passed away February 9th, 2013. Ernie was 66 years old when he left us to begin his eternal life. Ernie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was also the operator in charge at the Victorville Switching Station for the Department of Water and Power before he retired with 40 years of service. Ernie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Julia. He is also survived by his sons Wesley and Geoffrey, a brother Holly Hardies and his grandchildren Ayriana, Logan and Seth. Ernie was an enthusiastic member of the Wild West Corvettes car club and he loved fishing, reading, cooking and building Naval and Star Wars oriented Lego projects. He also enjoyed having in depth conversations on a wide range of subjects including history, astronomy, science and politics. Ernie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Ernie was a great friend who would do anything to help someone in need. He touched the life of anyone who was fortunate enough to meet him and get to know him. We will miss him and he will always have a place in our hearts. We miss you Ernie, you were way too young. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Rd., Apple Valley, CA. 92307.
