EVERETT OREN ASKREN 1/8/1938 - 6/21/2014 Everett Oren Askren 76, of Apple Valley passed to be with his Lord and Savior on June 21, 2014. Born at Women's Hospital in Pasadena, CA on January 8, 1938; he resided in California all his life and in Apple Valley for 35 years. He was a retired carpenter out of Local 769 and employed in all facets of construction. He was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church of Apple Valley where he served several years as an elder, chairman of the elders, and other church committees. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by wife Anna Marie Askren and children Marylou Meek, Dennis Askren, Philip Askren, and Becky Fehrensen, twelve grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He has followed in death by his parents Everett Sr. and Elsie Askren, and sister Laura Lynn Evers. He enjoyed outdoor gardening, drawing and sketching, carving, watching old western movies, and listening to country music. He had a great love of all animals. Viewing and services will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church on July 5th. Viewing from 9:30am-10am; service to follow. Officiating for us is Reverend James Harris.
